The October issue of 'Leisure Studies', the journal of the Leisure Studies Association (
http://www.leisure-studies-association.info/LSAWEB/Index.html), focusses of leisure and disability. The journal features a range of articles investigating both historical and contemporary aspects of disabled people's engangement with leisure practices. Topics discussed include the relationship between disability studies and leisure studies (Cara Aitchison), disability citizenship and human rights in cultural industries (Simon Darcy and Tracy Taylor), the experiences of partially sighted footballers (Jessica Macbeth) and the role of deaf clubs in the leisure lives of deaf people (Martin Atherton). Other articles focus on intellectual disabilities; disability, family and sport and the 'inclusive outdoors'. The issue concludes with a personal reflection on reflexive ethography and pub going as a disabled man by David Howe.
It is heartening to see all aspects of disability studies reaching a wider readership and the LSA are to be congratulated on their contribution to this process.
